The game, which was played in the midst of very harsh weather conditions in Djibouti, saw the Pharaohs almost literally tear their unsung opponents apart.

Premiership-bound striker Amr Zaki put the visitors ahead on the 40th minute of the encounter after a period of dominance.

The CAN 2008 MVP, Hosni Abd-Rabou, extended the lead of the Egyptian team shortly after the half time break to give the pharaohs a comfortable lead.

Egyptian captain Ahmed Hassan further compounded the misery of the home side with a third goal, and Ahmed Eid completed a glorious evening for the Pharaohs five minutes from time.

The result gives the Egyptians maximum points in their group, with DR Congo set to play Malawi tomorrow.

Egypt were a better team that the one that hosted DR Congo last week, a game in which they had to come from behind to scrape victory in Cairo.
